Revlon Tweed Nail Enamel

Left to right : Uptown, Tweed Mini , Woven Clutch
2 coats of Woven Clutch

Very enlarged uptown [2 coats ]

I am quite a big fan of anything glittery , so decided to give the Revlon Tweed Nail Enamel collection a go . Although i rarely seem to use glittery nails on shoots, they are fun to wear especially when you change your nails as often as i do !

So, the Tweed varnishes have tiny glittery sticks  suspended in a clear base so they can be worn alone or over another nail varnish colour .  There are 3 beautiful shades : Woven Clutch a bronze/gold , Tweed Mini  [ mini sticks ] in blue , and Uptown with purple/pink tones .

I find the best way to wear is a coat of ridge filling base coat , then build up a couple of coats of your chosen Tweed , then i like a couple of coats of clear Top coat for extra shine !

RRP is approxomately £6.50 so they are a bargain !

HOW TO DO RED LIPS !

Left : Revlon Fire and Ice Super Lustrous lipstick on lovely model Gara Noel at Models One. Right : Applying Revlon Cherry Blossom to gorgeous  Ella Catliff .

If you live in fear fear of wearing red lipstick stop now !  Depending on the shade and finish there will always be one perfect for you !

In order to choose a SHADE take a look at your skin tone/colour :
Pale porcelain : Try a blue/pink toned red to make your skin tone warmer.
Olive skin : Try a lovely raspberry/berry  red  with your warm skin tone or an orange based red.
Black skin : Can look wonderful with rich dark plum shades.
No rules are ever set in stone though as hair colour , outfit and your mood are important ! Just experiment !

APPLICATION:
*Start with with well moisturized but dry lips, exfoliate if needed as strong lipstick will accentuate faults!
*For maximum longevity start with a thin layer of concealer or lipbase.
*Line with a lipliner that matches your lipstick to prevent feathering .
*Apply lipstick with a lipbrush tracing the shape of your lips carefully evening out uneven lips.
*Blot and repeat if you want your lipstick to last .
* Add lipgloss if required!

TEXTURE is often more important !
*Try a stain effect rubbed in to lips with your fingers for a more subtle but modern look without the need for perfect edges.
*Sheer balm-like textures are good for a fresh young look.
*Matt lipstick is great for a sophisticated look and will last the longest .

RANDOM TIPS!
*Pull your index finger through your lips to prevent lipstick on your teeth .
*Pair a bold red lip with a nude eye for a modern look.

Make-up tutorial : Bip Ling's Make-up for Pretty Ballerinas shoot .

We shot Bip Ling for the Summer Collection of Pretty Ballerinas shoes in and around the city of London. I wanted to give her a very young and fresh look so this is how i did it and the products i used .
* Firstly i primed Bip's skin with a little moisurizer , i used CHANEL SUBLINAGE and blotted away any excess with a tissue .
*Bip has really good skin so i needed just a little foundation applied with REVLON foundation brush.I used NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION in Stroboli.
*I used a little shimmery eyeshadow on Bip's eyelids in BOBBI BROWN CHAMPAGNE QUARTZ .
*Next i used black mascara by CODE BEAUTIFUL for lovely separated lashes.
*To give a golden shimmer to Bip's eyes and cheek bones i applied NARS LAGUNA bronzing stick and a little GIORGIO ARMANI BLUSHING FABRIC to she cheeks.
*To finish i used CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK in PUDGY PEONY and BENEFIT DANDELION lipgloss with a SHU UEMURA lipbrush.

A very simple make-up look !
